If you are an apprentice in SA, you have a training contract written up when you are first signed up. Sometimes this can happen right before a training package – and the qualifications, are updated. If you are a current apprentice and you were signed up under the old BCG training package, you can update your qualification to the latest CPC package by requesting a variation to your contract. The form for this can be found at this site: http://skills.sa.gov.au/forms-and-publications/apprenticeships-traineeships. While holding a qualification in the old training package is unlikely to cause any issues, some people may prefer to hold the latest qualification when they complete their apprenticeship. FCTA is happy to offer any assistance to apprentices or employers looking at doing this.
